Read-a-holics

So yesterday we went to Costco.  We do not need any more books in our home yet I still always find myself walking down that aisle.  They always have such awesome kids books and for a great price in my opinion.

Anyway, I ended up picking up this bad boy. 


The kids have a recent love for Winnie the Pooh and we don't have any of their books so I caved.  This one happens to be 15 stories in one book.


This bad boy is big!  I figured we would read a story a night for the next couple of weeks.


Well, we finished the book today.

Yes folks, that says 300.  Yes it does have pictures, but still... 300 pages people!  I only bought the book 24 hours ago!  They just kept wanting me to read more and more.  
I was the one who wanted to take breaks.  

I am so glad that the kids have such a love for reading.  I hope that it continues throughout their life.  And although I do know I have a children's book addiction, I figure there are much worse addictions to have.  Also, the kids are using them everyday so I do not regret a single purchase I have made.  It seems like lately, every time I walk into a room they are sitting on the ground looking at their books.  I think I pick up more books then toys in any given day.  Now don't get me wrong, I have never asked them to just sit down and have reading time, they do it on their own.  And in case you are wondering, they are still wild toddlers that run am-muck  climb and jump all over everything, run everywhere and talk incessantly.  They just also enjoy sitting down and reading a good book now and then.  Something I didn't really discover until about a year ago. 

And aside from reading today, we also had preschool, ran errands, went for a walk and did some cleaning (well, at least Em did).


I gave the kids crayons while I was cooking dinner and despite the fact that she has not colored on the walls in months, I felt prompted to reminder that the crayons are for the paper only.  A few minutes later where did I find her?  Coloring on the wall.  This child.  Feisty.  Crazy.  Independent. And she most definitely does what she wants.  Love her to death, but grr!  She sure knows how to push my buttons.  She does however need some work on her cleaning skills but if she keeps these tricks up, she'll be a pro in no time.

Kid's Talks

  Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready.
