P's New Tricks

It seems in the past month P has learned how to do so much!! It is so fun to watch him learn and master new skills. He is so silly! I haven't been so good at taking pictures and videos lately so most of these are from the past 24 hours (except the laughing video, that one is about a month old). He is still a happy happy boy and SOOOO busy and active. Always needs to be doing something. He is starting to talk a lot more. I feel like everyday he learns a new word. I need to be better about catching it on film. So far he can say: Mama, Dada, Truck, Duck, Balloon, & Banana (nana). Here are a few snip-its of what he is up to lately; Talking, Waving, Laughing, and just having fun! Waving Balloon Fun Laughing Talking

Sippy Success!

HALLELUJAH!! The little man finally did it! As a result we haven't given him a bottle in 2 days (well kinda)! I'm thrilled! Thanks to the genius company AVENT we had success. Playtex Drop-Ins and AVENT are the two bottle brands we use the most. And in the past few months it has only been AVENT. So Parker recognizes the bottle specifically and wants that one bottle specifically. So I think that is why anytime we brought another type of cup he just would have it. He would scream and shake his head so we could even help him understand that it was what he wanted. One of my friends showed me this a while back, but I kinda assumed he wouldn't like it because the top was so hard and flat. The most success we have had previously were with ones that were most like a bottle nipple, soft and round. And I actually had gotten a sippy cup from them with this same top and he just wouldn't have it. But then we realized we could put it on his normal bottle like so: So we went a...

Dear Cadbury,

We Love YOU!! You provide us with two of our most favorite things in the whole wide world: The Creme Egg And Mini Eggs We honestly cant get enough of them. It is quite bad for our budget as well as our health , but we just cant resist. So Thank You for filling us with so much joy. We only wish you were around ALL YEAR! I guess we will have to make the most of you while we can! :)

Lots and Lots of updates!

Ok, so I have been really behind in blogging for a while and P took a HARTY nap today so I busted them all out in one sitting. Hope you enjoy! 10 Weeks and Counting P-Man is One P's Actual Birthday P's Birthday Celebration & Surprise Checkerboard Cake: Attempt 1 I Survived DanceSport

10 Weeks and Counting

It is hard to believe that we are this close! This pregnancy has seemed to FLY by! I know the time will only pass slower as I get bigger, but still, it is CRAZY to think that we will meet this little lady in just over 2 months! She is already about 16 inches long and weighs about 3 lbs. And she is a strong one! I'm feeling good; last week was pretty miserable since both me and P were sick but we are both starting to feel much better. I'm oddly less uncomfortable then I was just a month ago, maybe it is because I finally popped so she has more room to move, who knows really, but I do appreciate it. It is definitely getting harder to do a lot of things. Mainly anything that requires bending over and also carrying P for even short distances makes me breath pretty hard. Now that could also be a result of my recent illness and Asthma flaring up, but either way I feel pretty silly huffing and puffing as I was to the car. I am trying to remember that when I carry him I am also ...

The P-Man is ONE!

Height: 30 inches - 50-75% Weight: 24 lbs - 50-75% Head: >95% (Quick side note about how big his head really is. I recently measured Jeff's head so we could order his Cap and Gown for Graduation (YAY!) and decided to measure P's too, well turns out his head is big enough for a COLLEGE GRADUATION CAP!! And not even the smallest size! Poor kid! Hopefully he will grow into it someday! HAHA) Well, I know this is almost a month late, but I still wanted to post about it. My little man in ONE!! Can you believe it? I sure cant time flies! Here is how Parker feel asleep the last night before his birthday. He originally went to bed in his bed like normal, but woke up after about an hour or two and was screaming bloody murder. So I got him and layed with him on the coach and this was the position he finally fell asleep in. It made me chuckle as I thought about how that was the exact same position he was in one year ago as I waited in the hospital for him to come. And here h...

P's Actual Birthday

P's actual birthday was pretty much just like every other day. It started off with watching our friend Carson for a couple of hours. They were both really good this day, which made for a happy mommy. It is fun to watch them interact, they are so interested in each other, but just don't know what to do about it. Above Parker is trying to be a good friend and give Carson his binkie, too cute! After Carson went home, we decided to walk to the park. It had been a nice day, and the weather said it should stay nice for the next couple of hours, so we took off. This was the first time to the park since P could actually walk around. He was pretty intimidated at first, but then had fun. He really loved going through the tunnel. We were there for a while and it go pretty chilly. Daddy got out of class so we called him and had him join us. We stayed for a little longer, but then decided to jump in the car and head home. We had big plans that night. It was the BYU vs. UT baske...

P's Birthday Celebration & Surprise

One fine Saturday afternoon we attended the last BYU Home Basketball game of the season. It was a good game, big crowd, lots of fun, and friends. We headed home and started to relax as it had been a VERY long day (I had to work and Jeff had a test before the game). So there we are at home, messy house and all when the doorbell rings. We were not expecting anyone, but Parker's presents hadn't arrived yet from Jeff's parents so I figured it was FeEx . I answered the door and . . . SURPRISE!! It was my parents! We had NO IDEA!! And we had even been talking to them all day. We were shocked and so excited! And it really was the greatest surprise ever! It was great to have them around for a couple of days, we are sad they couldn't stay longer. But it was so fun to have them there to celebrate Parker's First Birthday with us. He we on celebration day! What a good looking family if I do say so myself! :) This is the ridiculously large pile of presents he got for ...

Checkerboard Cake: Attempt 1

So as you probably know, I took some cake decorating courses this summer and LOVED it! It was so fun. Since then, I have kind of been obsessed with cake. Anytime I see a new fun pan I want it! I have been really good up until now about refraining from buying any, but we really did need this one. Not to mention, I had a 50% coupon, so I only paid about $6 for it. Since I was so excited about it, I wanted to try it out. Jeff and I put together a little game night for the soul purpose of making and sharing this cake. (I'm sure Jeff would have been happy to have it to ourselves, but with all the Easter candy we have sitting around I decided that wasn't such a good idea. So one evening, after P went to bed I made the cake part, which I quickly found out was the hard part! This is what the cake is supposed to look like after it is baked: Now I followed all of the directions to a T but needless to say it looked NOTHING like this when we cut it open. I was going to take a pic...

I Survived!

As many of you probably know, I have worked for the BYU event staff for 7 years now. I used to work everything from football, basketball, soccer, and baseball games to weekly devotionals and CES Firesides. One of our biggest events of the year (in regards to hours, not crowds) is The US National Amateur DanceSport Championship. Let me tell you, it is an experience like one you probably cant even imagine! 3 full days (7:00 am to Midnight) of nothing but dancing! My good friend (and boss) recently did a post about the "highlights" of the DanceSport experience and I wanted to do the same so I can remember it. She is so great with words though that I got permission to copy hers which can be seen a little lower, but first here are a few things she forgot to mention. : ) The DEEP V-necks & Scary Makeup - This kind couple posed for us, as you can see, in the world of DanceSport almost anything goes. Apparently the Deeper the V and the uglier the dress, the better you are. The...

I'm So Excited!

I found out yesterday that if you wrap eggs in silk ties like this . . . And then boil them, they turn out like this . . . You cant tell me that is not awesome!! I am so excited to dye Easter Eggs now! We do it with friends every year and it is always a blast, but I am excited to try this out this year. Hopefully mine will come out this good. Off to DI I go to get some awesome silk ties. I'll let you know how they turn out. :) To see the full tutorial click here.

March Madness!!!

Well, today the Madness began! I'm not going to lie, this is one of my favorite times of the year. You CANNOT go wrong with watching the best teams in the Nation play basketball all day for 2 weeks! I seriously LOVE IT! This year started out especially great! BYU vs. Florida WHAT A GAME!!! If you missed this game, I am sorry, because it was AMAZING!! I was seriously pulling out my hair the WHOLE TIME! Such a good game, up and down, steals, rebounds, free throws, and DOUBLE OVERTIME! And we did it!! I just need to say: Dear Michael Loyd Jr., I LOVE YOU!! And Jimmer, your not to shabby yourself . :) The ONLY way the game could have been better would be if I was there! And if Chris Miles didn't play, I would appreciate that too. Sorry to all your Chris Miles fans, but I honestly HAVE NEVER been a fan! He has SOOOO much potential, but honestly just does not know how to play the game, and especially the post position WHICH HE SHOULD DOMINATE IN!! But I'll get off my so...

St. Patty's Day Adventures

Warning: This post makes me look very high maintenance, I promise I am not, and please don't judge me forever. Does this not look heavenly?? I saw an add for it in Sunday's paper and decided right then and there that we would celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year by enjoying a slice of this pie (especially since it was buy one get one free). So this silly pregnant woman spent the day, pretty low key just trying to get me and P better as I dreamed about how wonderful this piece of pie would be. I know it is silly, but I really did look forward to it all day! The day consisted of lots of phone calls to the doctors, playing with Parker, thinking about what family traditions I want to start in our home, and using P's new machine that vaporizes Albuteral for what the doctors think is Asthma (one thing I was hoping he WOULD NOT inherit from me). We also had an RA meeting which went well, and the one of our friends was playing in a Hockey Championship game so we decided to...

3rd Trimester & Remembering Lot's Wife

28 Weeks This time - 28 Weeks Last time Can you believe it??? I sure cant! I am on the home stretch now. This pregnancy seems to have flown by but at the same time I feel like I have been pregnant forever! ( But that could just have to do with the fact I got pregnant so soon after my last pregnancy.) Things are really going well and for the most part I am feeling great. I seem to be lacking in energy lately, but I think that is just because I spend my whole day chasing a toddler around. That task is getting more and more challenging the larger I get. This whole year seems to be flying by. Jeff only has 5 or 6 weeks of school left which BLOWS MY MIND! I have lived in this college town for 7 years now, which is almost a third of my life! And to think that we will finally be breaking free brings me so much joy I can hardly contain myself. Don't get me wrong, I have loved every minute of my time here and it does also make me sad that this phase of our life is quickly coming to an en...

More Silly Videos of the P-man

So these are mostly for the family far away, and some of them are kind of old, but they make me so happy. I thought I would share since I got a lot of good feedback last time I posted videos. He is such a silly boy and makes us laugh everyday! Since long videos don't upload well they are all less than 30 seconds, but hopefully it will give you a little glimpse into our life with this little man. I'll try and stay more on top of posting videos so I don't end up doing 5+ at once. Enjoy!! 10-11 months - Turns EVERYTHING into a push toy. 12 Months - This is his most recent trick and it cracks us up!! He does it all the time. Sitting, standing, walking, eating; and if you do it, he will do it back. Silly boy. The best ones are at the end of the video. 12 Months - This is his other recent trick. If you stick out your tongue, he will stick his out and wiggle it back and forth. So funny when he does it with a big grin. 1 1-12 Months - He is still ticklish! And if you ge...
