I Never Thought I Would Say These Words:

I Like To READ. The other night when we were getting into bed I was going to stay up and read which was a first in our 5 years of marriage.  Jeff was shocked and then when I asked him which book I should read, he almost feel over.  He has never really seen me read a book, let alone two books at once.   Seriously, who am I?  I have never been a reader.  Despite my parents best efforts as a child, I never read for fun (with a small exception one year I read a few Animorphs ).  But really, middle school, high school, college ... I NEVER read for fun.  I would even skimp on my school reading, who knows how I graduated let alone with the grades I did.   All of my closest friends were/are avid readers.  They would always tell me you would love this book or that book.  I would just nod and smile and know that I had ZERO desire to read any book.  If I was going to see a movie based on the book everyone would say, you have to re...

It's that time again

Time for what you might ask.   Time for some of that good ol' mushy-gushy, lovey-dovey type stuff. I never got around to doing it for our Anniversary so what better time than Valentines day. First of all, can I say that I wish I was better with words.  Everyday I sit here and read all of my friends blogs and am just envious of their writing skills.  You have probably noticed by now, but I'm not the best with words.  I write exactly how I talk, which I guess is OK for journaling and posterity's sake.  But one of these days, I would love to be like those people who after the first sentence you are captivated and you read every single sentence because it is just so awesome even when they are talking about nothing.  Anyway, that is not me, but I am thankful for my faithful readers who hang in there through all the grammatical errors, spelling issues, and exclamation happy post.  I love you readers! OK, now that tha...

Doomsday

Yesterday I found my first gray hair. I thought it was yogurt from my kids sticky fingers... I was wrong. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen for a few more years ... wrong again. This might be the end of my virgin hair. Any suggestions for a new hair color that isn't gray? The End.

The Worst Thing in the World.

I've been rather blessed in my life.  I honestly have nothing to complain about.  I have certainly had trails, heartache, and pain but after this past weekend, I am convinced that I now know what the worst thing in the world is.  Do you know what it is? Watching a child suffer. Little Miss has quite the traumatic weekend, and as a result, so did I.  Hers was physically traumatic, my was emotionally traumatic. (P.S. this is an EXTREMELY long winded version of the story for journals sake.  sorry.) On Saturday night Jeff got home about 7:00.  We played as a family for a while and I mentioned I needed to go to A&W and pick up some Root Beer (the only soda I still drink, but it HAS to be straight from the tap).  We had a coupon and were going to a Super Bowl shindig the following day so I figured it was a good excuse to indulge in one of our favorite things.  Jeff wanted to make it a family affair and the kids took SUPER late na...

January, where did you go?

Did this month really have 31 days?  It sure didn't seem like it to me. I feel like our January was kinda boring. We did have a trip to Utah and Daddy started busy season, but those were the only real things of note. But I guess a lot of little things did happen.  And I have a quote on my wall that says: "Little Things Matter Most" I think it is true.  So here is a photo dump of some of the little things last month.  Em's poor little toe-nail finally fell off. (A brick fell on it back in October.) Em wants so badly to be independent these days.  Which usually results in very big yogurt messes.  She is lucky I love her so much!  :) The kids LOVE to read.  We now read aloud about an hour a day.  And then they also read to each other which melts my heart. I thought it would be cool to get my first stitches. Apparently Dora and Scooby Do make our owies better We spent as much time at the park with our friends as we cou...

It only took a year ....

Remember last year when I got a serious craft bug and  did this post  about all the V-day crafts I was going to do.  Well, I only ended up doing 2 of them.  Well actually, it was more like 1.9. After finishing pretty much ALL of this cute little "Countdown to Kisses" board last January I let it sit in my extra room until last night.  Seriously, all I'll had left to do was Mod Podge it all on.  Ridiculous, right.  O-well, at least it is done now. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.  I ended up re-cutting all the letters because I decided to do off-white instead of pure white.  You cant tell in the pictures, but the word KISSES is made up of paper that says "I love you" over and over again. I got this idea from a blog called Infarrantly Creative.  She has a great tutorial on how to do it.  You can find that by clicking here. I added those little lip kisses (they kind of look like hearts on the picture though) ...
