Dear Santa

In the past couple of months the following items have decided to kick the bucket.  Please keep it in mind as you decide what gift to give me. Camera Microwave My phone is on the fritz and most recently our Computer Turns out I use our computer for much more than just email and facebook which is actually a comforting realization.  I thought it would be a nice change not being able to be so connected to the media world for a few days/weeks and it has been but it has also given me many other challenges in regards to getting things done.  Thanks to friends and family who have let me come to their house and use their resources.  I am still a little bummed because I have 2 free photobooks that I need to make by the end of the month which is posing to be a problem. since they are so time consuming and I still need to upload all the pics.  Not to mention my Christmas card/letter which I think will end up being a New Years letter which although I ...

No-vember

Could time be passing any quicker?  I swear September though November came and went as fast as I blinked my eyes.  And thanks to a broken camera I have little to show for it.  :(  (Hint, Hint Santa, if you're reading this...).  Anyway, just thought I'd do a small photo dump of the pics I do have.  Here goes: Visiting Santa  We went to see Santa at the mall.  They had this awesome set up, put on by Snapfish and Ice Age. The kids got to walk through a snow globe where it actually was snowing.  The day we went we were the only ones so the kids played in there for probably 20 minutes.  They thought it was so cool.  I had ZERO intention (hence the not adorable or matching outfits) of having the kids take an official picture with Santa but while they were playing in the snow globe I glanced at the brochure only to discover that a code for a FREE photobook comes with each purchase.  Really... I have very few weaknesses ...

Preschool: Kings & Queens

Well, it was finally my turn to host preschool again.  I felt like it had been forever.  The past times I have hosted I had one letter for the whole week, but this time I had 2 letters K and Q.  I felt they actually went pretty well together with Kings and Queens, so I was pretty excited about it. Monday I focused on K and here is how the day went. 9:45 - Arrival and ABC puzzle I wanted to do something a little different to start off this week.  We have this great ABC puzzle with both capitol and lower case letters so before everyone came I dumped all the pieces out and put some by each chair and the puzzle in the middle.  We just went in a circle and everyone took turns saying what letter they had, what it stood for, and then put it in the puzzle board.  I was worried about attention spans but they all did so well and were super patient as they waited their turn and listed to their friends talk about letters.  I was so pleased! ...

Finally Fall

Despite the fact that I LOVE SUMMER and miss it terribly already, we have been able to have lots of fun doing some classic fall activities. Leaf Jumping Using an Umbrella Puddle Jumping It is supposed to rain the rest of the week so I think we will go rake up the rest of our leaves and jump some more.  Then bust out the rain boots for the rest of the week.  I guess there are a few nice things about this time of year.  ;) Happy Jumping!

Hooray for Finished Crafts!

It is a miracle, I actually finished up some crafts!  This first one I started working on over a year ago, how pathetic is that!  I had all the supplies I just never finished.  Sometimes I don't understand  myself. O-well.  I can be proud now because I finished it and I LOVE IT!  It was inspired from this blog post.  I had my friend Liz help me cut out the leaves & the "fall", I hand cut the tree, used my cricut to cut out the rest of the letters.  A little mod podge and bam!  You have a lovely piece of fall decor.  It really came out great, the picture does not do it justice.  This one has kind of been in the works for a while.  I've had the bottles sitting around for a while planning on doing something with them, saw this idea a while back and decided that was what I wanted to do.  I was headed to my friend Liz's house to work on another project and asked her to cut some vinyl for me for this project ...

Finished Crafts take 2

This is a continuation of the previous post. Close up of the bottles Our awesome Grateful Turkey Love this!  Thanks to Liz And just for fun now that I have space :) the awesome card I drew for the P-man to take to a party.  I was proud.  :) Yay for crafting and for figuring out how I can keep posting on my blog! Hope you had a FABULOUS Thanksgiving!  And now that all our decor is up it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas and I LOVE IT!  That reminds me of my next project... Em's stocking.  Yes, this is her 3rd Christmas... No, I have not finished her stocking.  But that is another post for another day!

Jumping Back In Time

So one of my friends decided to throw an AWESOME Halloween party this year.  It was a Roaring 20's Speakeasy Murder Mystery and let me tell you, they went ALL OUT.  I was so impressed and hope to someday throw a party that is even half as cool as this one was.  I seriously felt so cool from the moment I walked in the door, it was like we literally went back in time.  Despite my best efforts to dress like a flapper, I really ended up looking like an innocent little 1920's girl that certainly did not belong at a speakeasy, but luckily they didn't kick me out.  Everyone else's costumes were AMAZING!  I felt so out of place standing next to them they looked that good.   Me and the Hubs started out by playing a game of pool, which I won... by default... after I had already lost by default but the hubs let the game continue. Doesn't he look like such a stud in this shot!  :) The party took place in a room that h...

Saturdays are the BEST!

Aren't they though?  And entire day to spend with your favorite people and you can go anywhere and do anything you want.   Friday night Jeff and I were hanging out and talking.  We started trying to figure out what we needed to do the next day.  Saturdays we usually have something that we have going on, but this week we didn't!  We were shocked and were then trying to decide what we should do.  I wanted to make the most of the day, a FULL day with daddy is a rare treat in this house.  I remembered I had bought a groupon a while back for The Sonoma Train Town Railroad .  The weather looked perfect so we decided to do it.  I am so glad we did!  It was awesome and the kids LOVED it! When we first got these we decided to wonder around and check the place out.  It is a fun atmosphere and surrounded by beautiful scenery   I thought the layout was weird at first, but it grew on me and I actually really like how th...

Maybe Bigger is Better

If you know me, you probably know I have what my dad likes to call "high pockets."  Meaning I don't mind looking for a good deal, I'm fine using used furniture/clothes, and I love things that are free!  That being said, I do like having nice things and I know some day we will have them.  But at this point in our lives when we are still a poor young married couple I don't mind having miss matched furniture or a small TV.  I feel like our money could be better used elsewhere. On to the point.   We have had our TV since we got married 6 years ago.  It has served us well these past years but you should know that one of the first comments people give us when they come over is in relation to our TV being small.  And the more I went to other people's homes it did seem like we were the only ones with a small (aka what used to be a normal sized) TV.  It apparently bothers other much more than me.  And really the only time I felt b...
