InfantSEE

Dear Friends & Fellow Parents, I just wanted to make you aware of this amazing program. I should have posted this a while ago, but never really thought about it. Anyway, this is a NATIONWIDE program that allows for your baby to have a full eye exam 100% FREE !! "One in every 10 children is at risk from undiagnosed eye and vision problems, yet only 13 percent of mothers with children younger than 2 years of age said they had taken their babies to see an eye and vision care professional for a regular check-up or well-care visit. " Parents always focus on the physical milestones which are super important but they eyes are developing too. Most eye problems are easier to correct the sooner they are detected. So this program allows your baby ages 6-12 months to have a complete eye exam. That way if there is something developing a little slower, for example a lazy eye, they can catch it and fix it while they eyes are still developing. Pretty cool huh!! I took Parker toda...

Life with 3 Babies

About a week ago 2 of my friends needed help watching their babies for a couple of hours. They were 2 months, 6 months, and 11 months old; all very different stages of development. It gave me a little glimpse of what my life will be like in a few years. Have a look: It went surprisingly well. A few moments we obviously more challenging then others, but I survived and returned the children unharmed and happy. I guess I should start getting used to my house looking like this. It reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: Cleaning house while your kids are growing is like shoveling snow while it's still snowing!

Forgot One -Love Happens

I knew I was forgetting one. This was was . . . OK. Not as good as I was hoping. Again, it had its moments and I'm glad I saw it but I wont be sad if I never see it again. It was pretty cute, I'm not sure how Jeff felt about this one. He didn't really make any comments either way, so I think he kinda felt the same as me. Anyway, I'm glad we saw it.

What Have I Done?

Some of my friends did this a while ago (just look at the date I started this, 1/28/2009 , so by a while I mean over a year ago! Time sure flies!) and I started it and never finished it. Right now I'm working in the clubhouse and it is pretty slow, so I figured this would keep me entertained for a little while. So here is a list of some of the things I have and have not done. Things I've done= large 1. Started your own blog 2. Slept under the stars 3. Played in a band 4. Visited Hawaii 5. Watched a Meteor Shower 6. Given more than you can afford to charity 7. Been to Disneyland 8. Climbed a Mountain 9. Sang a solo 10. Held and preying mantis 1 1. Bungee jumped 12. Visited Paris (We were supposed to, but we missed the train!! So bummed!) 13. Watched a lightning storm at sea 14 . Taught yourself an art from scratch (does this include scrapbooking?) 15. Adopted a child ( I am adopted, does that count?) 16. Had food poisoning 17. Walked to the top of the Statue of L...

What a Difference!

25 weeks and counting! Right - 25 weeks this time, Left - 22 weeks last time Some people say you cant tell a difference between carrying a boy and carrying a girl, and perhaps that is true for them, but let me tell you, this pregnancy is an entirely different experience! Here's how: Carrying So HIGH! Parker was so low that I honestly am more uncomfortable now then I even was at 40 weeks with him! I know that might seem like a little bit of an exaggeration, but really, I am ALREADY so uncomfortable and have been for a couple of weeks. She is way up in my ribs and it hurts to even bend at all. Maybe she is trying to teach me good posture. Either way, it is a major difference to me and is even visibly different. Lack of Energy This one is kind of opposite in 2 ways. With Parker I was so tired the first trimester and totally fine throughout the rest of the pregnancy. This time I was totally fine the first trimester and now more tired, that probably started about 20 weeks. Now ...

Tiny Touches

This is another post I meant to do MONTHS ago and am now finally getting around to it. Isn't this the CUTEST thing ever!!! I love it! When I first got it done, the only thing I was sad about is that I couldn't get one done for all of my future kids. So I guess another plus of having this little lady so soon is that she will get one too! :) By boss sent me the link for this lady while I was pregnant with Parker and I really just feel in love with them! I had been wanting to get one done anyway and was just planning on trying the at home kits. Then I saw these and with us moving so close to Parker's birth I just had to do it! So I drove out to her house just weeks after Parker was born and she had it done in no time! It took me WAY longer to decide which design to get. Too many options and I just loved them all. I got this for myself as well as 3 little ornaments one for me and one for the grandparents. Probably their favorite Christmas gifts this year and they are ...

To Love Like God Loves

Being Valentine's Day and all, it makes you think about love. It makes you think about who you love, why you love them, and how you show that love. After having a child and becoming a parent it truly adds an entirely different perspective on love. I can honestly say that I more fully understand how much God loves us. We had an amazing lesson last week in Relief Society kind of along these lines and I have been thinking about it ever since. Do I really understand what love is and am I showing that love to those around me as God would have me do? The following is found on the church website as well as True to the Faith: "Love is a feeling of deep devotion, concern, and affection . The greatest example of God's love for His children is found in the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ. Love for God and Fellow men is characteristic of disciples of Jesus Christ. We Manifest our love for Heavenly Father by keeping His commandments and serving His children. . . . Our love ...

A Tired Boy

Parker decided to wake up a little earlier then normal today which I full expected since he went to be earlier. Jeff was home in the morning so I decided to take a nap & thank goodness my body let me today! While I was sleeping Jeff took this gem shot. Apparently it was a little too early for P too. Jeff woke me up to tell me about it. After taking the picture he brought him in and we napped together. It was so nice to lay together and cuddle because let me tell you, this little guy is NOT a cuddler so I cherish every moment we do. While I'm writing about the P, I'll mention a few things I forgot to write in his 11 month post. He is getting SOOOO smart!! He love, love, loves to read! Books are his favorite toy lately which I am quite happy about. He loves to just sit there and turn pages all by himself and he knows when he has missed a page and goes back to open it. He has also learned how to steer his little walker. He can go backwards, sideways, around objects,...

New Car Seat

(So this actually happened a couple of months ago, I just forgot about it. ) When we went to P's 9 Month check-up we discovered that he was 1 lb and 1/2 inch away from out growing here car seat. I was Shocked! I mean, I knew he was big, but this was supposed to last the first year and that meant 3 more months! It was time to go home from Christmas break so I frantically started searching for a safe, convertible car seat (one that can go forward & rear facing). It made me stress and car seats are one item I like to research thoroughly in regards to safety. We LOVED his first car seat. Super safe! Super easy to use! It was the best! I hated feeling rushed buying this new one before break, so we decided he could last one more trip in it. When we got back I did my research and found this Gem: Happy things about it, it is one of the safest , can hold heavier kids, can hold taller kids, and it was the second cheapest !! :) The reviews were great (I probably read about 50)! Such ...

Pregnancy Update: 24 Weeks

Well, here I am, 24 weeks along. I am having Issues with Pictures on the blog lately, it wont let me do ANYTHING!! I cant re-arrange them, change the size, or put them next to each other which is annoying! I feel so smaller than last time! This is me at 22 Weeks with Parker. It is crazy how differently I am carrying this little lady. She is so high that it hurts me to even slouch! I never had that with Parker even when I was 40 Weeks and HUGE! This time I do not feel nearly as cute, I just feel like a THICK woman. Then other days I do feel MUCH bigger. The following pictures were both taken on the same day. The first one I feel like I look completely normal. The Second one I feel HUGE! Way bigger than I think I am. And if compare this to the first picture, I'm much bigger here too even though this picture was taken BEFORE the one in the red. Maybe it is just not a flattering shirt. Anyway, I am feeling great. Just a lot more tired lately, but that is probably just becau...

More Scrapbooking

Well, as you know I have been on quite a roll lately with the scrapbooking. Well, I was hoping to keep it going tonight while we watched a movie, but my darn pictures haven't come yet!! I've been expecting them since Monday! Well, I guess I'll just be proud of the fact that I had nothing to work on until I got more pictures. And I have all the way to our Anniversary (Dec. 30th) up to date, on paper, and journaled!! So I have this fear that someday my house will burn down and all of my scrapbooks will burn right along with it. So when I took pictures of my pages the other day to post, it gave me the idea to take a picture of all my pages, so I will at least always have a digital copy of all my hard work. I know, it sounds kind of silly, but it does bring me a lot of comfort. Jeff thinks I'm silly, but they do mean a lot to me, not to mention they really are a journal of my life. It was fun looking through everything again. And I must say, I am proud of what I have a...
