P's Birthday Celebration & Surprise

One fine Saturday afternoon we attended the last BYU Home Basketball game of the season.
It was a good game, big crowd, lots of fun, and friends.
We headed home and started to relax as it had been a VERY long day (I had to work and Jeff had a test before the game). So there we are at home, messy house and all when the doorbell rings. We were not expecting anyone, but Parker's presents hadn't arrived yet from Jeff's parents so I figured it was FeEx. I answered the door and . . .

SURPRISE!!
It was my parents! We had NO IDEA!! And we had even been talking to them all day. We were shocked and so excited! And it really was the greatest surprise ever! It was great to have them around for a couple of days, we are sad they couldn't stay longer. But it was so fun to have them there to celebrate Parker's First Birthday with us.
He we on celebration day! What a good looking family if I do say so myself! :)
This is the ridiculously large pile of presents he got for his birthday. Can you tell he is the first Grandchild on both sides??
We had it all set up so the family in CA could be as much a part of his birthday as possible. We set Parker in front of the computer and web came and had a Skype Convo with Jeff's side of the family. It was so nice for them to be "there" and at least get to watch. Parker was pretty overwhelmed, mostly because we did it all RIGHT after he woke up, so he was pretty out of it. We first opened presents, and by we I mean I opened them and then handed them to P. He wasn't really into the tearing of the paper. Then we had cake. Again, I think the singing was a little overwhelming for him, but he did great. I was going to make this awesome Monkey Cake for him, but then decided to wait on that one because the frosting used for that doesn't make a mess and I was really hoping for a good mess out of him.
Here is the first bite of cake ever!
"hum . . . that was pretty good, I think I'll have some more!"
The end result. He really didn't eat very much cake, he mostly just made a mess, but it was fun. We put him straight into the bath and then came back out to play with all his new toys!

What a happy boy!
It was a great first birthday! We wish the whole family could make it, and were so THRILLED that my parents made the drive. Parker LOVED having them here. He and grampa had a great time together and really missed them they had to go home. Good thing we get to see them again in a few weeks!

Happy First Birthday P-Man! You are so loved!!

Have you noticed?

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Now it would probably help if I was willing to pay more than $10 for a hair cut . . . but I'm Mrs. High Pockets as my father calls me and it is really hard for me to spend money on my hair. So I need your help! What do you think I should do? Before you make any suggestions you should know: It MUST be able to go back into a ponytail!!!!!!! My hair is STICK STRAIGHT My hair will not curl to save my life (via over night curls, hot curls, even curling irons, they just don't work) I want and need something EASY! I do not like to spend time on my hair and I don...

Em's Blessing

Emily's Blessing day was so great! Since we were moving home so soon after she was born, we decided to just wait until we got out here to CA so our family could be there for it. It was pretty low key compared to P's (and by that I mean less family there) but was still just as wonderful. Jeff gave a beautiful blessing. It was also special because she wore the dress I was sealed to my parents in. Jeff wasn't a fan of how long it was for such a small baby, but it was so neat for her to wear something that is so special in my family. The P-man looked like a little stud in his outfit too! I wish I would have gotten some of the two of them together, o-well. It was a fabulous day! Thanks so much for all the family and friends that were there, it meant so much to have you there and we missed those who couldn't come! Isn't she so perfect! I love this picture of her laying on the grass. She is so pure and clean and perfect ! I love her!

Disneyland

A little late but . . . We Went To Disneyland! So you may or may not know that we went to Disneyland back in July. It was so much fun! As we were planning the trip I was really worried about how it would be taking 2 babies there, in my mind they were way too young to do anything there but boy was I wrong! All of us had a great time and we all went on tons of rides, even Emily! Here is a list of all the rides we went on: (The bold ones were P's very favorites) Disneyland Railroad Train Enchanted Tiki Room The Jungle Cruise Tarzan's Tree House Pirates of the Caribbean Haunted Mansion Winnie the Pooh It's a Small World Story Book Land canal boats King Aurthur's Carousel Dumbo Mad Tea Party Tea Cups Peter Pan Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Pinocchio Finding Nemo Submarine Autopia (Cars) Did you know babies could do this much! I sure didn't! I even nursed during 4 of the above mentioned rides which was so nice and saved tons of time! They both did so well on all of the...
