It has been 5 weeks and I still cant believe it!
Clayton Valley High School puts on a little preschool every year in their Child Development class. The program last 12 weeks and is a steal of a deal. I lucked out and got BOTH kids in this year and they truly truly LOVE IT! And love that they get to go together!

Do you think she's excited?

| She was so excited I had to chase her down just to get a goodbye hug & kiss! |
Every day they come home with SO MANY PROJECTS! It is hard to believe they even have time for it all. Seems like they have a bunch of different stations and the kids get to pick what they do. It is obvious that some things everyone does but P and Em always come home with different things so clearly they don't have to do everything.
My favorite part of the day is picking them up. Not only because they run to me and give me a huge hug, but because they are so very excited to show me what they made that day. The whole ride home they talk non-stop about all the fun things they did that day. Between the two of them I think I get the majority of what actually goes on there. Every now and then they will tell Jeff something that despite all my questioning I had no clue they did.
So far some of their favorite activities have been:
- Playing dress up, especially as fire-breathing dragons & cheetahs for P and as princesses & flowers for Em.
- Painting (of course)
- Themed snacks, they had an Octo-dog (octopus shaped hot dog for this weeks "Under the Sea" theme)
- Making new friends
- Learning new games
- And Em still talks about how they did the Hokey Pokey one day
They are making so much stuff everyday there is noway I can keep all of it, but I wanted to document it. So here are some pictures of their weekly stash with that week's theme.
Week 1: Colors & Shapes
Parker Emily
More of Em's I found hidden in another pile.
I love how P writes is name right now. Always backwards.
So proud he can do it all himself!
Week 2: Our bodies
They talked about how tall they were, how old they were, how much their weighed. Eye color, and body parts. Em's favorite thing this week was doing the Hokey Pokey.

Em's stash
My favorite item of the week. P made this all by himself!
P's Stash
They still talk about how tall they are EVERYDAY since they learned about it in school this week.
Week 3: The Weather
They really liked this week. They talked about all the different kinds of weather and the things you can do in the various weather. They painted with ice, made rain sticks, did leaf rubbings and even a pin wheel. We also happened to get the Dr. Suess Book about Oobleck this week which also talked about the different types of weather. So fun that it tied in and the kids noticed too!
Week 4: Night & Space
This was also a super fun week for the kids. The first day they made Jet Packs which the kids LOVED! My kids still run around the house wearing them. They also got to do a special Pajama Day during this week which the kids thought was so cool. They made rockets, aliens, blobs, and even some sparkly moon play-dough. They even made little hand print molds and got to paint them.

Em's Stash
Again, I'm still obsessed with how he writes his name.
P's stash. I love the little paper plate Sun.

P's Stash
Don't know why but I love this one.
But these Jet Packs are by far the coolest thing they have made so far!
Week 5: Under the Sea
P's Stash
Em's Stash
This week they learned all about water and things that live under the sea. Today they especially loved the "Sink or Swim" activity. Their favorite craft for the week was their "fish tanks" made out of ziplock bags, hair gel, and fish. They also loved playing with sand and got to play with water lots this week too. They loved it all!
The kids are really getting comfortable with school and look forward to going everyday. They are almost sad when the weekend comes and they don't get to go. This preschool has been such a blessing for all of us! This pregnancy I am just down right tired! I'm sure a large part of that is because I'm chasing these two around all day, but still! I'm also lacking in the patience department. I like to think that I am usually a fairly patient person when it comes to my children but lately I just am not. I feel awful and I'm not quite the mom I'd like to be, but I'm trying my best and I have to remind myself that is all I can do. But I am so glad the kids have an hour + a day to spend with some other people that are able to give them their full attention and stimulate them in ways that are hard for me right now.
The school isn't super far away, but it is far enough that I don't really think it is worth it to drive all the way home so I have been walking with my best bud here. Can I just tell you how wonderful it is? Seriously! It has been so good for my body, mind, and spirit. Sounds cheesy but it is so true. We are able to exercise, chat, help each other work through current struggles, and when we get to the top of the hill and see the amazing view of this beautiful world we live in I can't feel anything but gratitude. It just brings so much peace to my soul.
Isn't it beautiful!
Also, since we have started walking I do have more energy and more patience. Still not quite as much as I'd like, but certainly more then on the days we do not walk. We are averaging about 3.5 miles a day. Not to mention the monster Hill (borderline mountain) we walk up TWICE. When I told my doctor at my last appointment that I walked 4 miles that day his jaw hit the floor. He said I don't need to do that much, but as long as I'm feeling good and not pushing too hard to keep it up. I plan on keeping it up at least until school is out in May. I just feels so good!
The hill (after we already walked half way up) and My walking buddy!
So needless to say, things are going great! I'm so glad the kids had this opportunity. I feel like it has really been good for both of them. I can't believe next week marks the half way point! Man time flies! We will have to cherish these last 7 weeks!
