Say What! I cannot believe Riley is already 4 months. Actually, it is one of those things where the time has flown by but at the same time I cant remember what it was like without her. You know what I'm talking about right? It is the strangest thing. Sometimes I look at my kids, like today, and am in awe. Have you ever looked at your kids and just been blown away. Look at them and think, "Wow! You didn't exist and know you are here and are this totally awesome little person." I have that thought at lot, especially now with 3. But really, creating life is a crazy-awesome-miraculous thing.
Anyway, Riley is the best. Her personality is starting to come out more and as easy going as she is I can tell she is not going to be a pushover. She is not afraid to make her voice heard. She like attention. One minute I'll be talking to her and she will be so happy, smiling and laughing at me. I'll look over at one of the other kids for a second and she will wail like somebody pinched her but the second I look back she is all smiles again. Silly baby. At least her problems are still easy to solve. ;)
She hasn't really done anything "new" this month. I mean, she is laughing a lot more which is fun. Parker is the best at getting her to laugh and it seriously melts my heart every time. My favorite thing is when they her laughing, which then makes them laugh, which makes her laugh more and it is just a massive cycle of pure joy. a.k.a. THE BEST THING EVER!
She LOVES to bounce and fly. And peek-a-boo will get her to laugh 9 times out of 10. She is sleeping great over all. Still waking up once, but I'm usually still awake when that happens so it doesn't bug me. She love watching her siblings play. She loves to be outside. She does not love laying down. She must either be sitting or standing. She is starting to roll. She has done it a couple of times. She is so strong and can almost sit up completely on her own. She actually enjoys tummy time and will stay on her tummy WAY longer than the other two. And she even already pulls her knees under her. I think she is going to be an early crawler if she figures out how to get her hands under her.
She had her first trip to Pismo Beach and did amazing! Slept most of the drive on the way down and did so well while we were there. The first day we stayed at the beach over 5 hrs. She napped, watched, played, and loved every minute of it. The second day was a little more windy and she didn't love that, but still did great! She is learning early that a good book and a nap on the beach are among life's greatest pleasures.
The older kids were so good with her too. They listened so well and obeyed all the rules. They didn't even complain when I said we had to leave early because of Riley. But I mean, look at this face...
You just cant get mad at that face!
Anyway, Riley is seriously the best, happiest, coolest baby in all the land! We are so blessed to have her in our family!
