Birthday Festivities
 This was actually the first year that Em had a "Friend's Party."  Despite the fact that I seem to spend hours looking up ideas for the P-man when his birthday comes around, I did not do the same for Em.  The poor girl.  But really, when I thought about what she would love to do on her birthday all I thought of was friends, crafts, princesses, frosting, Cheetos, and presents.  I'm happy to say according to this list, we nailed it!

I let her pick the friends she wanted to invite, got a hold of the mommy's and it was set!  It also turned out that I needed to host a house party, so I decided to just throw that into the mix as well.  Jeff was an awesome grilling man and sported the product for us as well.

One of Em's favorite things to do is craft.  No joke.  She seriously gets giddy if bust out the glue or scissors.  I bought some glitter and princess stickers and found these cute little princess hats for each kid to decorate.  It was a hit.  The kids were so patient too as they waited for the glue.

I found this idea for cupcakes and new I just had to make them for Em.  I let her pick which princesses she wanted.  Of course she picked almost all of them, lol.  But I think they came out pretty cute!  Em sure loved them!

One of the best parts of the party was watching her open presents.  Again, this was the first time she had a friend party and she was genuinely so excited about every single gift she got.  It was so funny to watch all the other kids sit and watch in anticipation.  I could not keep from laughing.



And what was daddy doing after he was done grilling and the moms were all just standing around talking...

Swinging as high as he could.  Anyone know where there are still high swings around here?  This poor man just really wants to swing. 

I'd say her birthday was a major success!  She loved every minute of it.  She even came home the same day and painted thank you notes.  I still need to pass them out, but I loved how excited she was to have her friends there.  So grateful to be surrounded by such awesome people!

Em's actual birthday fell on a Sunday so we decided to do a family dinner that day.  Instead of bring her gifts from us over that night, I thought it would be fun to open some just as our little family before church.  I wanted P to get involved in the giving and saved a gift for him to wrap and give her.  He woke up first, which never happens.  I pulled him into the room and talked to him about it.  I reminded him not to tell her what is inside, but that if he wanted he could ask her to open it first and she did.  Here is what it looked like...


P had so much fun doing it.  Even while we were wrapping it he kept saying "This is so much fun!"
Em brought mini cupcakes to Nursery to give her friends.  And then after church we headed to Grandma & Grandpa's for the family celebration.


Despite my best efforts, Em would not take a single picture with me.  But she loved her sprinkle cake and opening presents.  She got lots of cool things from clothes, to sticker books, a hula-hoop, and a trampoline.  One lucky lady!

It was a great day.  She felt the love which is what birthdays are really about right?  She is already talking about her next birthday and what she wants to do.  Sure do love this little miss and so glad we got to spend a week spoiling her!

Kid's Talks

  Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready.
