So Cal Temple Trip: Day 2

Day 2: REDLANDS to SAN DIEGO to NEWPORT BEACH

Day 2 started out with a tasty breakfast courtesy of our hotel.  The kids loved it and actually ate a decent breakfast which is not something they usually do at home.  After we ate we loaded back into the car and headed to the Redlands Temple.  My in-laws had some family names to do and watched the kids so I could go in with the youth and do them.  It was so wonderful to be in there with our youth, see the inside of another beautiful temple and then also to participate in the ordinances.  It was perfect!

Grandma found a park close by and took the kids while we were inside.  They had a blast!  She took some fun pictures, I'll have to get them from her.

SAN DIEGO TEMPLE

After we were done we headed straight to San Diego.  Em fell asleep right away while P fought it until we literally pulled into the Sand Diego Temple lot.  I was like P look at the temple, he looked at it and must have felt great peace because he closed his eyes right then and went to sleep.  BAH!  Then Em pretty much opened her eyes once the car stopped.  What was I going to do with one wide awake child and one sleeping child?  Luckily Em woke up super happy (which doesn't happen very often).  I was some how able to entertain her for an hour in the car.

Eventually P woke up and we were off to wonder temple grounds.  It was fun being back here because they remember when we were there on memorial day weekend.  They even remembered it was Em's birthday and that we went to the beach after.  Everyday they impress me with their little brains!  They are so smart!  And apparently I say "good memory" often because that is a phase Em says all the time now.  It cracks me up!


We had fun wondering around the grounds, looking at the flowers, climbing the hill, eating snacks, and singing songs.  There were quite a few brides this day which were fun to see and talk to the kids about but made our roaming more limited.  As cute as they are, I'm pretty sure none of the brides wanted two little kids  running in the background of their pictures.  The youth took a LOOOONNNNGGGG time in this temple, but part of it was because they did a little devotional inside.  It got rough toward the end, but we survived!  The kids were so excited to see our friends and of course Grandma and Grandpa!

We had originally planned on taking the youth to the beach this day, but the temple took longer than expected, everyone was starving, and a chill came and it was overcast and cold.  We all decided to hop in our respective cars and head up to Newport Beach where we would be staying the night.  I was glad because the kids were beat and so was I!  We found another buffet and ate to our hearts content and then headed to the hotel and called it a night!  What a day!  And as P would have told you, "We saw 4 temples and 1 more temple tomorrow and that makes FIVE TEMPLES!"  He loved it!

I went through the Redlands temple and wad married in San Diego!!! What a fun trip you and your littles are going on!!!

Kid's Talks

  Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready.
