Or at least the person who buys them for her is.
Our Anniversary was awesome this year!
It was so nice to really plan and anticipate it.
Jeff's parents watched the kids for us which was so nice.
We dropped them off right about nap time and took off. We were originally just going to go out to dinner but Jeff's folks said we should go to a movie before so we did.
We saw Sherlock Holmes 2, it was good and so fun to actually go out to a movie.
We came home and got all dolled up for our fancy-shmancy dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Don't worry folks we had a gift card. It was so much fun and amazingly delicious. I'm kinda like a man in the sense that the way to my heart is a big, fat, juicy steak and this steak was amazing! Melted in my mouth. I would go there all the time if it wasn't so expensive.
After dinner we hurried back to get the kids. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty eager to see them. I even asked Jeff how he did this every day. I mean, I was only away from the kids for half the day let alone the crazy hours he works and I was dying! I have no idea how working mom's do it either, I feel so blessed to rarely have to say goodbye to them. Anyway, they were excited to see us. We took them home, played for a little and then they went to bed.
And the moment you have all been waiting for, my beautiful new rocks!
The picture does not do it justice! 15 little princess cuts.
It is so pretty and sparkly , I can't stop looking at it.
The gift exchange was fun. The only other time I remember actually exchanging gifts was the night before we got married, so it was fun to actually do this year. My gift was rather lame especially in comparison to his but I wasn't expecting him to get this for me. Since it was our 5th anniversary and we have 5 senses I did an "I love you will all of my senses" theme. I got the idea from here at The Dating Divas (one of my favorite blogs btw). I got him a gift or two relating to each sense, attached a little love note to each one explaining why I love him for each sense. A little cheesy but a lot of fun and memorable. I think Jeff liked it, cheese aside.
Then he went all romantic on me (which happens about once every 5 years, lol) and busted out the ring. I totally wasn't expecting it mainly since we were poor, but mostly because I wasn't sure Jeff even remembered I wanted a wedding/anniversary band. But he got all ancy when he went to buy it so I knew it was something out of the ordinary and suspected but still didn't know. Anyway, it was and he did such a good job! When I went back to get it sized I browsed a little and I like the one he picked more then any others I saw so Good Job Jeff!
We were also supposed to do a little love time capsule (Another idea from Dating Divas found here). I have all the stuff but we haven't done it yet. Guess we better do that soon!
Anyway, it was a wonderful Anniversary! Still is crazy for me to believe that we have been married for 5 years! Seems like a blink of an eye but at the same time feels like it has always been this way. I feel so luck to be married to such an amazing guy (p.s. Doesn't he look so handsome in this picture!). He really is so good to me! Much better then I ever deserve but I'll save all the mushy stuff for another post.
Happy 5 Years Hubs!
I can hardly wait to see what the next 5 years will bring.
I love you!!
