Well Folks, I did it. I competed in my first Triathlon. And I didn't do half bad if I do say so myself. When you take into account that I did little to no training, I'm pretty darn proud of my time. I went swimming I think 3 times this summer. The last time I biked was at least 5 years ago. And running, I trained for 3 weeks. My goal time was 1 hr 40 mins which was a total shot in the dark, but I'm happy to say that I did indeed beat my goal time! Not too bad for a first timer.


Swim = 7:15 Bike = 54:31

Run = 28:30 Finish = 1:33:27

I am so glad I did this. It was a ton of fun and I learned quite a bit. For example:
  • Road bike vs. a mountain bike when racing makes a MAJOR difference (I had a mountain bike)
  • You can be 50 years old and in awesome shape. (I don't really want to tell you how many over 50 beat me.)
  • After riding a bike for 12 miles for the first time in 5 years, your legs will feel like Jello and make it almost impossible to run.
  • It feels amazing to be cheered for and I need to cheer others more often in all aspects of life.
  • Life is hard, but we can do hard things!
This really was a great race! I'm planning on doing it again next year. Thanks to these awesome girls for letting me be a part of their group. It was so fun to do it with friends!

So fun! so glad to see pictures and read your thoughts about the event. Maybe someday you can convince me to do a race or something with you. I don't think I could do it alone! :) Way to go!

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Em's Blessing

Emily's Blessing day was so great! Since we were moving home so soon after she was born, we decided to just wait until we got out here to CA so our family could be there for it. It was pretty low key compared to P's (and by that I mean less family there) but was still just as wonderful. Jeff gave a beautiful blessing. It was also special because she wore the dress I was sealed to my parents in. Jeff wasn't a fan of how long it was for such a small baby, but it was so neat for her to wear something that is so special in my family. The P-man looked like a little stud in his outfit too! I wish I would have gotten some of the two of them together, o-well. It was a fabulous day! Thanks so much for all the family and friends that were there, it meant so much to have you there and we missed those who couldn't come! Isn't she so perfect! I love this picture of her laying on the grass. She is so pure and clean and perfect ! I love her!

Disneyland

A little late but . . . We Went To Disneyland! So you may or may not know that we went to Disneyland back in July. It was so much fun! As we were planning the trip I was really worried about how it would be taking 2 babies there, in my mind they were way too young to do anything there but boy was I wrong! All of us had a great time and we all went on tons of rides, even Emily!
