Felt Book Craziness

As a lot of you already know, but a group of girls in my area (About 25) got together to make a scripture related quiet book. I have been wanting to do this for a while so I was really excited when one of my friends put this together. We each got to pick a page and then we have to make 28 of that same page. Then this Saturday we will all get together and swap pages and will end up with 28 different pages.

There is a wide variety of pages. Everything from Noah's Arc and Jonah and the Whale, to tying your shoe and braiding your hair for church. Each page will require the kids to learn a different skill, which is one of the greatest things about it.

I originally signed up to do a seasons page, but after doing the math and realizing I would have to cut out a bazillion little leaves and flowers I quickly changed my mind. I decided to do a weaving page since no one else was doing that and it turned out to be one of the easiest pages. I feel kind of bad because some people's pages are really intense and time consuming. But I still think this is a good story and a good skill, so I don't feel too bad. Plus I finished early so I could help those who do have harder pages.

Anyway, here was the inspiration behind my page from How to Make a Quiet Book.

Obviously not perfect, but I am excited about. I'm going to try and put flowers or a tree in that empty spot on the lower left, but we'll see. I know that my page will not be quite as fancy as some of the others pages, but it still teaches a great fine motor skill. I'm so anxious to see everyone's page on Saturday. This book is going to be amazing! I'll try and post some pictures of the finished product when I get it all together.

It's perfect Rebecca! I've been wanting to make a book for such a long time. Please do post pictures of the pages, I would love to try and make one like it!

My mom made a quiet book for us when I was little. I loved it. I keep asking her if I can have it, but she keeps saying no, she wants it to keep it. Maybe I should just make my own!

Ahhh!!! It looks fabulous Bec! Way to go. And really -- who cares that yours isn't as involved as other people's? You got the best end of the deal, my friend. I'm jealous. I can't wait to see the finished thing so maybe I can think about making my own (but only like 6 pages because I can't do 28... haha).

Kid's Talks

  Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready.
