1 Month!

Can you Believe it?

My little lady is already 1 month old!

And as you can see, she really likes to eat. She has already gained 2 lbs since she was born. I feel like all I do is feed this little girl. We are so pleased with how well she is doing and the special spirit she has already added to our home. It is so fun to see Parker interact with her, he really does love her. Just yesterday he started giving kisses on command (which is adorable by the way!) and his favorite person to give them to is Em. He will rarely give them to me when I ask, but he ALWAYS gives them to Em. He is such a good big brother! Anytime she cries he says "baby" and points to her or goes to her. If I dont quickly follow he runs back to me and says "baby" again and then runs to her again. He also tries to giver her the binkie which is sweet, but he cant quite get it right yet but we always thank him for being such a nice big brother.

Here are some things about Em:
  • She still makes an awesome Popeye face, unfortunately I can never get it on camera.
  • She snorts
  • She sometimes goes cross-eyed
  • She LOVES tummy time and is already getting so strong!
  • She eats like a champ and spits up like a monster :(
  • She loves to be held
  • She loves to be in the moby wrap
  • She loves to be outside
  • She can already track objects with her eyes and head
  • She loves to watch her big brother play.
  • She randomly smiles all the time but never when we try to get her to smile
  • She chuckles in her sleep with little shoulder shrugs and all, it is adorable!
  • She eats every 2 hours and at night she sometimes can go for 6 hours and her mommy REALLY appreciates when that happens!
  • She is a bit fussier than her big brother was, but overall she is a good baby.
She was diagnosed last week with Infant Acid Reflux which is sad. You can just tell she is in so much pain and I hate that there is nothing I can do for her. They gave her some medicine which has helped a little, but not a ton so I guess this is something we will just have to deal with. The doctor said it usually gets a little better at about 3 months but usually last a whole year.

She is wonderful and we love her to peices! We are so excited she has joined our family and look forward to watching her grow. Here are a couple more pics.

There's a couple of different medicines for Acid Reflux. Only one worked for Angela. of course itw as the most expensive one not covered by the insurance but it made a huge difference. Also with Reflux medicines it takes at least one to two weeks of using it consistantly for it to actually start makinga difference.

She's sure a cutie!

Rebecca! It's been a while since I came to your blog and I just can't believe how big your little Em is! So cute! I can't wait to hold her! When do you guys get here? I know I've asked you like a hundred times but I can't remember- does mom brain get worse after the next kid? If so, I'm dead meat! Anyways, can't wait to see you guys! Oh, and I read your post about the 25,000 dollars!! That is amazing! Austin and I calculated (haha our husbands are the same!!) how much money we have washed down the toilet since we lived here paying rent and it is REALLY not good! Idk what to do though...buying a house is just not the plan right now. Oh well =) Let me know how I can help when you get here! hugs, em (sorry for some reason I am signed in as my husband- sorry)

What to pack . . .

So now that he really could come ANY DAY I figured it was probably time for me to pack my bag. I of course have one of those "What to bring" checklist, but I was wondering what your thoughts where. Is there anything you wish you had brought but didn't? Is there anything you would have died without if you hadn't brought it? I'm just so clueless! A few tips from you experienced mothers would be greatly appreciated!! I cant believe it is so close!!

Have you noticed?

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Now it would probably help if I was willing to pay more than $10 for a hair cut . . . but I'm Mrs. High Pockets as my father calls me and it is really hard for me to spend money on my hair. So I need your help! What do you think I should do? Before you make any suggestions you should know: It MUST be able to go back into a ponytail!!!!!!! My hair is STICK STRAIGHT My hair will not curl to save my life (via over night curls, hot curls, even curling irons, they just don't work) I want and need something EASY! I do not like to spend time on my hair and I don...

No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk . . .

So being an emotional pregnant woman is definitely taking its tole on both me and Jeff (what a wonderful, patient, and understanding man he is). Saturday morning I was so excited because for the first time in weeks we actually had a morning together. I had planned to make us a delicious breakfast just like my dad always did for me. We had Eggs, Hashbrowns, and even Bacon; we were so excited. So I started cooking the bacon first, knowing it would take the longest. Then when I thought they were close to being done, Jeff started cooking the eggs and I threw on the hashbrowns. Well, needless to say, the eggs finished super fast and the others were not even close. And then to add more to my frustration the pan I was using for the hashbrowns was awful! Despite my many tablespoons of butter the entire thing was completely stuck! I switched pans in the middle to try to save them. In the meantime Jeff ate his eggs so they wouldn't get cold. I insisted on waiting so I could eat th...
