Slacker Mom

So I am in the process of making my blog into books since it is pretty much the only journal I have (sad I know). While doing this I realized how many post I had about the P-man and I started feeling guilty for my little lady. Poor girl has hardly anything written down about her! So today, during naptime my number one priority is writing a little about her. She is now a week shy of being 14 months old (Only 4 more months till nursery!!!). She still is quite the little peanut weighing in at a mere 17 lbs. Let me remind you that P was 20 lbs at 6 months! She has had a few check-ups just for her weight and the doctor is not worried anymore. Her height for weight is right on, so basically she looks like a walking 6 month old which is a funny thing to see. But she can hold her own now. She loves to walk, tries to run, and loves being chased. She still isn't really interested in eating unless it is cookies or cake. Seriously, I can get her to eat and entire packet of oatmeal...

SF Zoo & The Best Picture Ever

I know I'm a little biased, but seriously, you cannot deny how adorable my little peacock is! Today we went to the SF Zoo and it was a blast! I was shocked at how well the kids did, but they were awesome! We saw every single exhibit and they lasted 2 hours past what their normal naptime is. It was the perfect day to be at the zoo. It was cold and overcast, but because of that, the animals were up roaming around rather than just hiding in the shade. Em LOVED looking at all the animals, I was surprised she could see as many as she could. P had fun too, but I must be honest, I think his favorite part was jumping in the puddles . His pants were so soaked we took them off for the car ride home and discovered that his shoes and socks were also drenched. His poor little feet were freezing and resembled large white prunes! Obviously that did not bother him one bit! He also loved riding the Train and Carousel too of course. We all had a great time. There were lots of things for the k...

As of Late

We have had a lot of fun lately doing all sorts of things and just enjoying life in general. Here is a little peak at what we have been up to. Pismo Beach We have been to Pismo 3 times in the past 2 months. We had never been before but Jeff had to go down for work and I was tired of being home alone so we went along for the ride! It was a blast and I am almost hoping he stays on this client so we can do it again next year! There are lots of things for us to do there, obviously the beach, the zoo, swim, parks, libraries, outlet malls, fine dining, you name it they got it! And on the last day Jeff only had to work until 2:00 so we stayed and played as a whole family. It was a great trip! Stairs Have I mentioned that the P-man LOVES stairs. Well, he does. It cracks me up, but really he could and sometimes does play on stairs for hours at a time. He just goes up and down, nice and slow, and usually counts the steps as he goes along. My favorite number of his right now is "Segenteen...

Crazy Lady, GO TO SLEEP!

Rebecca, you were supposed to catch up on sleep while the hubs was out of town. -- I know, but I'm being productive and I feel fine. That is all fine and dandy, but you will not be feeling fine in 4 hrs when your kids wake up. Besides what could you be working on at 2AM that is so important? -- Our Family History thank you very much. And you have a point. Not to mention you are currently having a conversation with yourself, so you cant really be feeling 100%. -- Touche. Save your work and go to bed. -- Goodnight. (It is sad that I have to convince myself to go to bed at what is now 2:30. Tomorrow, I mean today is going to be a LONG day! Why do I do this to myself?)

Does Your One Year Old ...

Does your one year old love to be chased, tackled, and basically abused by their older sibling? Can your one year old climb ladders and slides? Does your one year old love spinach & mustaches? Does your one year old love to play Hide & Seek and then actually hides places you cant find them? Does your one year old use their feet to play with toys more than their hands? Does your one year old clap anytime you say "Yay!"? Does your one year old like to drink from a straw? Does your one year old like to eat sand? And dirt? Mine Sure Does! Isn't she the Cutest? She is the most Adventurous, Fearless, Funny, Unique, Determined, and Adorable person I know! I Love her More Than Words!

Ahh ... To Be Me Again

If I have done my calculations correctly, it has been EXACTLY 3 YEARS since I have been just me. And by just me I mean not growing a human (or 2) or being the sole source of nutrients (nursing). Yes folks, that is 3 years of sacrificing my physical body for the benefit of another being. Please don't get me wrong ... I am SOOOOO VERY GRATEFUL that I am blessed with a body that was able to conceive, grow, and feed 2 amazing children. I am truly blessed. But this is also the first time in 3 years that I have actually felt good (physically/aesthetically) about myself. You see, after P was born I worked my tail off trying to lose the extra weight. I gained a lovely 50 lbs with him, so believe me, there was PLENTY of extra weight. I lost half within one week of him being born. Unfortunately, no matter how much I worked out I did not lose the weight. Then only 6 1/2 months after P was born I found myself pregnant again. I begged the nutritionist to let me work out really hard...

Going Green ... in a different way

Well, I took the little lady to the doctor this week. She was a measly 1 6 lbs 10 oz. That is 3 oz. less than last time we went to the doctors which is not a good thing. She is also officially in the 1% of all children her age. So the doctor told me to fatten her up. Our first battle is with Milk. She will not drink it, period. That was until I made one of these "Green Smoothies." My first one wasn't actually green in color but it had: 1 Cup Whole Milk 1 Banana 1 Cup Strawberry Yogurt A few Strawberries 1/2 cup of Peas She LOVED IT! The most milk I have gotten her to drink EVER. I have since then researched a lot more recipes. The best green food to put in is Spinach or Kale . I just bought some tonight and will be trying them out tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm pretty excited about it. The best thing about it is you can really throw ANYTHING in you want. I'll try and post our favorites, but so far everything I have read the kids...
