CRAZINESS

This post is really not that exciting, it is really one more for the books than anything else.  I don't know why, but it always seems like I am not busy at all until this one random week and then EVERYTHING we could possibly do is crammed into that one week.  Does that happen to anyone else.  I have something going on literally every.single.day for the next 10 days.  Let me demonstrate:

Wednesday 19 - Music Time, clean like a crazy lady, get free doughnuts at Krispy Kreme dressed as pirates & $1 Jamba Juice for dinner, drop kids off, pick up girls and go to YWs

Thursday 20 - Drop Em off for playdate, Drop P off for preschool, jet to dentist, jet back to pick up kids, hurry over to the library for Toddler Tumble Time (a free class we signed up for, today was the first day & the kids loved it!), home lunch attempt naps, dinner, prep for babysitter, meet hubs in the city for a work farewell party (one of his best work friends just got a new job so they are sending him off with a party).

Friday 21 - Host a House Party for Fisher-Price, get bike for Tri

Saturday 22 - Do the See Jane Triathlon, jet home to get ready for a wedding, drop kids off and go to wedding

Sunday 23 - Teach lesson for YW, dinner with the Fam.

Monday 24 - Host Preschool, FHE

Tuesday 25 - Library for story time, more cleaning, host book club

Wednesday 26 - Music Time & YWs (this is the only normal day out of the 10) and I have a photobook due this day as well.

Thursday 27 - Host preschool, go to Free Drive-in Movie

Friday 28 - GO SEE PENTATONIX!!!!

Saturday 29 - Attend the RS Broadcast

Sunday 30 - Speak in church

ok.... so all typed up it doesn't seem too bad, but lets add onto these things the fact that:

  • The hubs has been working about 15-17 hr days this week and it sounds like it is going to be the same next.
  • I have not prepared for my Tri and am scared for the soreness that is going to follow
  • I have not prepared my preschool lessons
  • I have not prepared FHE
  • I have not read the book for book club
  • I have not prepared my lesson for YWs
  • I have not prepared my talk
  • I still have 2 children to care for, love and entertain (completely on my own for these two weeks)
I'm still not quite sure how it is all going to get done, nor to the level of perfection that I would like but as I seem to hear EVERYONE say these days... it is what it is.  And I will do my best!  And the thing is, I am literally excited for every single thing we have to do.  I am looking forward to each of them, they just all happen to fall right at the same time.

I'll let you know how it goes when it is all over.  But I wouldn't expect to hear from me before then.

p.s. Em pretty much potty trained herself this week, but I'll leave that for another post.  :)

yikes! Good luck... but I totally know what you mean about not much going on and then everything happening at once.

That's a lot! But doesn't it feel better to get it all written out on a list? That always helps me. Otherwise I just have all these self reminders floating around my head and it gets overwhelming. And the good thing is, you only have to do one day/ one thing at a time. You can do it because you're a Supermom. It's what you do :)

The Light of the World

I was asked to give a talk yesterday in church.  Kinda daunting knowing it was Christmas Sunday, but I think it went pretty well.  I like remembering my talk so I'm throwing it up here mainly for my own record.  But maybe it will bless the lives of others too.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that the Light of Christ will be upon you and radiate from you now and forever. Jesus Christ: The Light of the World Rebecca’s talk given on 12/20/2015 Jesus Christ.  Can a topic be any broader? I have spent a lot of time over the last 6 weeks trying to decide what direction I wanted to go and I kept going back to the same thought, Jesus is the light of the world.  This is not an insignificant statement, but very profound and very important.  Let’s start from the beginning. Many Prophets have testified of the fact that Jesus Christ is the light of the world long before the Savior was even born.  The very first sign of his bir...

Because God Love's Us

How is Christ’s Birth Significant to me Talk on 12/20/2020 Good Morning Brothers and Sisters & Merry Christmas!   Heavenly Father must know my preferred method for giving a talk is procrastinating because I have been called to fill in last minute on many occasions.   However, this is the first time it’s happened on Christmas Sunday.   But I am happy to be here with you and I’m so grateful for technology that allows us to meet and worship together, especially during this Christmas season.   I’m not gonna lie, this is weird speaking on zoom.   I much prefer being together and making eye contact with you and seeing your encouraging smiles.   So please bear with any awkwardness I may have.   When initially asked to speak, Brother Smith gave me the topic of “How Christ’s birth is significant to me.”   My initial response was, could that topic be any broader?   But then gratefully he followed it up with “Particularly from the prosp...

Kid's Talks

Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready. We should all remember how important baptism is.   I am really excited I get to be baptized next year.   In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen Faith Parker’s Talk   2/16/20   Today, my talk is going to be about f...
