So the past 2 years we have gotten together with some of our college best friends over the summer. We kinda decided to make it a yearly thing and this year would mark the 3rd annual Marquez-Score Family Vacay. We have been talking about it and planning it since last year's trip. The original plan was to get a beach house for a week and just relax an veg. Sounds amazing right! Well, life happened and we settled for staying rent free with some of our other best buds the Wilson's.
When I realized that the Pismo trip surrounded Memorial Day I threw out the idea of getting together then to our friends. I didn't think it would work, because it was kind of short notice and in the past we have gotten together later in the summer. But it just so happened that it was perfect timing for all of us! So we made it happen!
Thursday - May 24
We drove straight from Pismo Down to LA and got there that evening. The Wilson's welcomed us with open arms and a homemade pizza fresh from the oven. I'll take that kind of welcome any day! We ate and talked for a while. It was so great to catch up and finally meet their adorable baby, whom my children LOVED by the way! Since the kids were stuck in the car for a good 4 hours straight, we decided to take them on a little walk to a nearby park to let them have some fun and get out some energy. They loved it. We headed back once it started to get dark and put the little ones to bed.
We then had an AWESOME game of Trivial Pursuit. We played in teams... couples to be exact. It was fun, but I am not exaggerating when I say they WHOOPED us! They had a completely full pie and we had a completely empty pie. lol. I think they are our smartest friends, one is a Lawyer and the other majored in Nuro-science (yeah, I don't even know how to spell that! lol). Yup, they blew us right out of the water. But to be fair, Jeff and I had horrible luck with the Dice, we never even landed on a pie winning spot so we never even had the opportunity to try and win a slice. O-well, it was still fun. We laughed and visited for a little while longer. They also introduced us to another game 3 /13 or also known as When Kings go Wild. It was super fun! I'm totally a card lover, if I weren't LDS I pretty sure I would have a job dealing at a casino. When that was done we watched a few of our favorite youtube videos and then headed off to bed. Mean while the Marquezes were in route to join us SUPER EARLY Friday morning.
Friday - May 25
We started the morning with an AWESOME breakfast of Bacon, Eggs, and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Every thing was delicious. This was the day that we wanted to just hang out. The six of us are really good a laughing when we are together and we most definitely did a lot of that. We played games, talked, and cared for the children somewhere in there too. We also had to make plans for the next day because that was our one day we had things we wanted to do, the San Diago Temple and the Beach.
The Wilson's made us DELICIOUS Cafe Rio pulled pork for dinner. Seriously... it was amazing! Then we all to a stroll to the park to let the kids run am-muck again. This time, the parents had fun too! :)

After we came back and put the kids to bed it was game time! These are our favorite gaming buddies ever! Loaded Questions is really all we need and we are entertained for HOURS. Some of us even end up crying from laughing so hard. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
Saturday - May 26
I already did a little post about this day which can be found
here if you want to read more about it. It was truly a PERFECT day! I am so ready to relive it right now. Here are just a couple of my favorite pics from that day that I didn't put in the other post.

As you can see it was a perfect day! (FYI this was the same day my wallet became lost, and by lost I mean thrown in the trash. lol) We ended the day with of course more games! It is what we love to do most together. Another night full of laughs and tears.
Sunday - May 27
This was another just relaxing day to recover from our crazy busy day the day before. We went to church with the Wilson's and then spent the afternoon relaxing, playing, talking, napping, etc. Jeff and I took the kids to see the Newport Beach temple. The grounds were closed, but we were still able to walk around a little, snap a few pics, and of course sing "I love to see the Temple." The Wilson's made yet another amazing meal of Hawaiian Haystacks, one of my favorites! We chowed down and enjoyed one last game night as we would all be departing the next day. It went by to quick, as good times always do, but it was a perfect trip! I honestly would not have changed a thing about it! And I can think of no better way to kick off the summer then by laughing with your best friends.

Obviously had to take some pics of our awesome game playing.
These guys really are the best to play games with! We have even played games via skype before!
Always a blast and this time was no exception.
We now have a ridiculous amount of inside jokes that get me laughing just thinking about them.
I'm already ready to get together and play again!

Monday - May 28
Monday was a sad day because it meant it was time for us to head home. We ate another amazingly delicious breakfast, packed our bags and cleaned up the best we could. We all wanted to play one final game before we parted ways so we decided on PIT since we chose not to play that late at night while the kids were sleeping (it is a loud game). We played a few rounds. It was a blast as always. The kids watched a couple shows while we played, all of them except Em that is. She was on the floor having a tantrum. The next thing we new, she was asleep. How anyone could fall asleep under those circumstances beats me, there is only one explanation... she is a Score. :) After the game, the Marquezes took of. We finished packing up and took the kids on one more walk to get out some energy before our ride back up to Pismo. And then we were out the door.

Seriously, it was an AWESOME weekend! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to the Wilsons for hosting! And the Marquezes for making the long trek from Utah. We love and miss you already!
