Wifey Wednesday

Have I told you about Wifey Wednesday?

It is the day that I do all my "Wifey" duties. You know ... laundry, vacuum, mop, clean bathrooms, kitchen, I basically clean my entire house and end it with ironing the hubbies work clothes while I watch some TV online (we don't have cable) after the kids go to sleep. I started this about 5 weeks ago and can I just tell you I LOVE IT!

It is WONDERFUL to have just one day that I dedicate to cleaning my house. I feel so good! I used to stress everyday and try to get something done and I felt like the kids never cooperated and then I felt like a failure homemaker. But now I do everything all on one day and the kids are surprisingly great for it all! They help when they can and keep themselves entertained or just watch when they cant help. At the end of the day I feel SO accomplished and my house looks great when I go to bed. AND the best part, is every other day I don't worry about anything except playing with my kids (and of course tidying up the toys).

The idea all started when Jeff started busy season and no longer had time to iron his shirts (that makes me sound like a horrible wife, but yes, he did iron his own clothes). I chose Wednesday for a few reasons, but mostly because the shows I want to watch air on Tuesdays which means I can watch them on Wednesday online. And I liked "Wifey Wednesday," it had a nice ring. Then that just adapted into me doing everything that day.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know all about it because this works for me! And I have been trying for about 2 years to find something that works for me. I can honestly say I look forward to "Wifey Wednesday." I have fun doing it, and it makes me feel so good!

What works for you?

Oh, and what shows do you like to watch? I'm always looking for new ones.

So Happy Wifey Wednesday!!
(All I have left is my ironing:)

What would I have Jason call the day when he does all that for me?

That's so crazy Rebecca! I do that on Wednesdays now too! I didn't when we were in Utah because I was teaching. I split up all the chores and did one everyday when I got home from work (Jeff was doing homework). But I've got a new schedule and it wasn't working. So...it just worked out to do it all on Wednesdays. I really don't know why I chose that day though. I think I just liked that it was in the middle of the week (for laundry) and kind of close to the weekend (to have people over). Great minds think alike I guess :)

Sounds like a great idea! I have the hardest time keeping the house clean and that feeling of being an awful wife ... yeah I feel that too. I'll have to try it out! I watch Grey's Anatomy, NCIS and Lie to Me (occasionally). :)

I have never ironed Lincoln's clothes so you are definitely a super wifey! I love this idea! I've been getting into "Off the Map" lately (medical drama), pretty entertaining.

That's awesome. I love it! We have Saturday as our big cleaning day, but more often than not, it seems like something comes up on weekends and I end up doing bits and pieces through out the week instead. I might just have to change it. But then I don't have as much help if I do it through out the week!
It's amazing what a clean house can do for your spirit.

What to pack . . .

So now that he really could come ANY DAY I figured it was probably time for me to pack my bag. I of course have one of those "What to bring" checklist, but I was wondering what your thoughts where. Is there anything you wish you had brought but didn't? Is there anything you would have died without if you hadn't brought it? I'm just so clueless! A few tips from you experienced mothers would be greatly appreciated!! I cant believe it is so close!!

Have you noticed?

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Now it would probably help if I was willing to pay more than $10 for a hair cut . . . but I'm Mrs. High Pockets as my father calls me and it is really hard for me to spend money on my hair. So I need your help! What do you think I should do? Before you make any suggestions you should know: It MUST be able to go back into a ponytail!!!!!!! My hair is STICK STRAIGHT My hair will not curl to save my life (via over night curls, hot curls, even curling irons, they just don't work) I want and need something EASY! I do not like to spend time on my hair and I don...

No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk . . .

So being an emotional pregnant woman is definitely taking its tole on both me and Jeff (what a wonderful, patient, and understanding man he is). Saturday morning I was so excited because for the first time in weeks we actually had a morning together. I had planned to make us a delicious breakfast just like my dad always did for me. We had Eggs, Hashbrowns, and even Bacon; we were so excited. So I started cooking the bacon first, knowing it would take the longest. Then when I thought they were close to being done, Jeff started cooking the eggs and I threw on the hashbrowns. Well, needless to say, the eggs finished super fast and the others were not even close. And then to add more to my frustration the pan I was using for the hashbrowns was awful! Despite my many tablespoons of butter the entire thing was completely stuck! I switched pans in the middle to try to save them. In the meantime Jeff ate his eggs so they wouldn't get cold. I insisted on waiting so I could eat th...
