What's in a name . . EVERYTHING!

So I'm finally trying to get serious about this whole naming thing and let me tell you, it is SO much harder than I ever expected it to be. I mean, this isn't just a baby name, it is a person's name forever and ever! So much pressure and so many names I like and so many names Jeff doesn't like. HAHA! Does anyone have any suggestions or even naming tips?

So far my favorites are:
  • Parker
  • Spencer
  • Lincoln
  • Andrew
  • Lucas
  • Dominic
  • Landon
  • Noah
  • Tanner
There are many many more that I like, but those are the ones I like most today. Adding middle names changes a lot for me, but I need to get a first name first and then go from there. Any thoughts?

We finally sat down and each wrote down 10 names that we liked (regardless of if the other liked it or not). Then we looked at the lists and each got to vote off so many. We did this several times (writing down names and then crossing off names). Then we actually rated them by how much we liked them. We were surprised with the names we ended up with because they were completely different from what we had originally discussed.

My Dad read an article about the initials of a person having a positive or negative impact on their self esteem. (i.e. B.A.T., B.A.D., R.A.T., B.U.M. are bad and V.I.P, W.I.N., A.C.E are good.) I would only worry and look out for A.S.S. in your case ;)

As for middle names Brad's family always has the first boy's middle name the father's name. I love this tradition and hope to get to use it ;) Otherwise I want to definitly pass down my middle name Lyn but as for my first name, I don't know I'm kind of close to it and don't feel like it would work for anyone else ;)

Just don't pick the name before you get there! I think it's sooooo important to let inspiration help guide you once you meet your baby! For example my parents went in thinking they'd name my sister Nicole ... but after meeting her it didn't work. So they made Nicole her middle name and took her middle name at the time Hilary and made it her first. I think you'll know what's right when you meet him :)

Jospeh is a fine name, and it has served me well. But I like the sound of Parker Score.

I like Lucas. If Avery would have been a boy I would have used the name Lucas.
How about Lucas Timothy or Lucas Jeffrey Score??

I love the names Noah, Dominic, and Lincoln. I definitely recommend saying the full name out loud several times, because you might come to realize that it doesn't flow right or suddenly makes a sentence (something us people with nouns for last names have to consider). Be careful with alliteration, because sometimes it sounds too repetitive. But on the whole, looks like you got a good list. Oh, and I'm partial to using family names as middle names. Doesn't necessarily have to be dad's or grandpa's name, could be an uncle or cousin's middle name. But I like the connection. Good luck to you!! I know how frustrating the baby name search can be. :-)

Noah was a personal favorite. One thing to check out is the Social security website for popular names,http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/namesbystate.cgi. Some may be surprising. I love all the names you have and can't wait to hear the grandparents brag about their first adorable grandson!

Have you noticed?

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Now it would probably help if I was willing to pay more than $10 for a hair cut . . . but I'm Mrs. High Pockets as my father calls me and it is really hard for me to spend money on my hair. No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk . . .

So being an emotional pregnant woman is definitely taking its tole on both me and Jeff (what a wonderful, patient, and understanding man he is). Saturday morning I was so excited because for the first time in weeks we actually had a morning together. I had planned to make us a delicious breakfast just like my dad always did for me. We had Eggs, Hashbrowns, and even Bacon; we were so excited. So I started cooking the bacon first, knowing it would take the longest. Then when I thought they were close to being done, Jeff started cooking the eggs and I threw on the hashbrowns. Well, needless to say, the eggs finished super fast and the others were not even close. And then to add more to my frustration the pan I was using for the hashbrowns was awful! Despite my many tablespoons of butter the entire thing was completely stuck! I switched pans in the middle to try to save them. In the meantime Jeff ate his eggs so they wouldn't get cold. I insisted on waiting so I could eat th...
