Childhood Dreams...

When I was a kid, I had one cassette tape that I LOVED!! I listened to it ALL THE TIME! I still remember all of the songs on there and every now and then something will remind me of them. Well, for a few years now I have been trying to find them on CD because I listened to the tape so much it is ruined now. I really LOVED those songs and wanted to be able to share them with my kids too. Every once in a while I'll search online but find nothing! Well today I found this link http://mormontracks.com/ and it has almost all of the songs there to listen to! I have been listening all morning!  (please note, I wrote this first part MONTHS ago, like probably last year.)

I did a search again the other day and discovered that Deseret Book sells a CD that has half of the songs.  I got super excited and showed Jeff and told him that this would make a great Christmas present.  He then asked me how much it was, I told him and then he said, "Just get it right now."  No need to tell me twice!  Well it came in the mail a couple of weeks ago and we have been listening to it almost everyday since.  I still love the songs just as much as I did as a kid and my kids are starting to love them too.  I am bummed because it is still missing my two favorite songs, but I am cherishing the ones I do have.

One of the songs is called "When I Grow Up, I Want to be a Mother."  I remember singing this as a kid and dreaming about one day being a mother.  Now listening to it as a mother, it is a great reminder to me of what kind of a mother I want to be.  I feel like I have been shouting so much lately and I hate it.  I did a lot better this week, but still it is hard not to some times.  Being a mom is seriously hard work.  Here are the lyrics:

When I grow up I want to be a Mother and have a family
1 little, 2 little, 3 little babies of my own
Of all the jobs, for me I’ll choose no other, I’ll have a family
4 little, 5 little, 6 little babies in my home.
And I will love them all day long and give them cookies and milk and Yellow balloons
And cuddle them when things go wrong, and read them stories and sing them pretty tunes.
When I grow up if I can be a Mother how happy I will be
1 little, 2 little, 3 little babies I can love
And you will say each sister and each brother all look a lot like me
4 little, 5 little, 6 little blessings from above

Now I'm not saying that I am going to give my kids cookies and balloons everyday, nor that I will have 6 children, then again, maybe I will; as of right now I'm very happy with the 2 I have. :)  What I am saying that even in the midst of all the craziness and frustration there is no other job I would want to have.

I LOVE being a mother.
I love reading them stories.
I love singing them songs.
I love cuddling them (when they let me).
I love teaching them.
I love watching them.
I love laughing with them.
I love that I am their favorite person in the whole wide world.
I love that I am literally living my dream every single day.

I need to remember that during those rough time.  Thanks to my hubby for making my dreams come true in more ways than one, but in this instance in allowing me to stay home with our children.  I know this is kind of a random and cheesy post, but it has been on my mind a lot lately so I thought I'd share.  Seriously, I have the

What to pack . . .

So now that he really could come ANY DAY I figured it was probably time for me to pack my bag. I of course have one of those "What to bring" checklist, but I was wondering what your thoughts where. Is there anything you wish you had brought but didn't? Is there anything you would have died without if you hadn't brought it? I'm just so clueless! A few tips from you experienced mothers would be greatly appreciated!! I cant believe it is so close!!

Have you noticed?

I need a haircut ASAP! This is me saying, "I'll smile if you ignore my hair." Don't get me wrong, I am really excited I have long hair, I love having long hair , but it needs a little TLC. It has been a few months since I have even got a trim and I am still re-couping from a not so good hair cut. The last few times I have really CUT my hair, not just a trim, I was not pleased with the results. Now it would probably help if I was willing to pay more than $10 for a hair cut . . . but I'm Mrs. High Pockets as my father calls me and it is really hard for me to spend money on my hair. So I need your help! What do you think I should do? Before you make any suggestions you should know: It MUST be able to go back into a ponytail!!!!!!! My hair is STICK STRAIGHT My hair will not curl to save my life (via over night curls, hot curls, even curling irons, they just don't work) I want and need something EASY! I do not like to spend time on my hair and I don...

No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk . . .

So being an emotional pregnant woman is definitely taking its tole on both me and Jeff (what a wonderful, patient, and understanding man he is). Saturday morning I was so excited because for the first time in weeks we actually had a morning together. I had planned to make us a delicious breakfast just like my dad always did for me. We had Eggs, Hashbrowns, and even Bacon; we were so excited. So I started cooking the bacon first, knowing it would take the longest. Then when I thought they were close to being done, Jeff started cooking the eggs and I threw on the hashbrowns. Well, needless to say, the eggs finished super fast and the others were not even close. And then to add more to my frustration the pan I was using for the hashbrowns was awful! Despite my many tablespoons of butter the entire thing was completely stuck! I switched pans in the middle to try to save them. In the meantime Jeff ate his eggs so they wouldn't get cold. I insisted on waiting so I could eat th...
