Carnival: The Fun Ship

To celebrate my graduating from college we decided to go on a cruise! Lucky us, it turned out to be more of a graduating present from my parents which was super nice. We had such a blast! It was just a quick little 3 night cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada.

Our first night on the boat which happened to be Jeff's birthday, we decided to play bingo. Why not? And who would have guessed it . . . WE WON!! $300 cash that they gave to us right then!! It did not even seam real! It was so awesome. We laughed so hard!

We had fun in Catalina browsing all the shops and snorkeling. In Ensenda we had a blast riding 4-wheelers all over their "wine country." It is in quotes because that is what they called it but it looked a lot more like desert to us. That was super fun. The city itself is pretty much a hole and we didn't know what to do all day. We basically walked around, tried some ethnic Mexican food, bought some jewelery off the street, and the best part of the day was finding FILLED CHURROS!! AMAZING!! I wasn't even hungry but I have always loved churros so I managed to make room. I got caramel filled and Jeff got chocolate. They were so amazing we walked straight back to have another. They were made fresh right in front of our eyes and were seriously the best things EVER!!

The food on the ship was AMAZING! Gourmet meals every night! This is us dressed up on the formal night. All the other pictures were awful because I had gotten motion sickness and the medicine I took knocked me out. You can imagine my drowsy face, not so great. But this is where we ate every night. Unfortunately they were ridiculously small portions, but you just learn to order more than one. Or you go fill up later at some other food place. We ate so much it was ridiculous! We both gained at least 5 lbs if not more. But it was all worth it!!

Ever night they had tons of photographers who took many pictures of us. Most would take 5-10 at each station. There were a lot of really good ones but they were so expensive we had to narrow it down somewhere. We really liked this one, even though Jeff doesn't play the piano and was in the middle of saying something. It is great!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to six flags Magic Mountain and I finally had the chance! On the way home we drove right by it and decided to go! Oddly enough one ticket was the same price as a season pass, so we ended up just getting that. It was amazing! honestly the best theme park I have ever been to! And we picked the perfect day, the part was empty. To give you an example we waited less than 5 mins to go on Superman! It was awesome! I am trying to convince Jeff we need to go back soon! It was such a blast!

Overall our trip was Perfect!! It was so nice to get away, just the two of us and relax and have fun after a long and hard semester. What a great treat! P.S. Cruises are such a great deal!! I highly recommend them to all! I can hardly wait for our next one!

The Light of the World

I was asked to give a talk yesterday in church.  Kinda daunting knowing it was Christmas Sunday, but I think it went pretty well.  I like remembering my talk so I'm throwing it up here mainly for my own record.  But maybe it will bless the lives of others too.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that the Light of Christ will be upon you and radiate from you now and forever. Jesus Christ: The Light of the World Rebecca’s talk given on 12/20/2015 Jesus Christ.  Can a topic be any broader? I have spent a lot of time over the last 6 weeks trying to decide what direction I wanted to go and I kept going back to the same thought, Jesus is the light of the world.  This is not an insignificant statement, but very profound and very important.  Let’s start from the beginning. Many Prophets have testified of the fact that Jesus Christ is the light of the world long before the Savior was even born.  The very first sign of his bir...

Because God Love's Us

How is Christ’s Birth Significant to me Talk on 12/20/2020 Good Morning Brothers and Sisters & Merry Christmas!   Heavenly Father must know my preferred method for giving a talk is procrastinating because I have been called to fill in last minute on many occasions.   However, this is the first time it’s happened on Christmas Sunday.   But I am happy to be here with you and I’m so grateful for technology that allows us to meet and worship together, especially during this Christmas season.   I’m not gonna lie, this is weird speaking on zoom.   I much prefer being together and making eye contact with you and seeing your encouraging smiles.   So please bear with any awkwardness I may have.   When initially asked to speak, Brother Smith gave me the topic of “How Christ’s birth is significant to me.”   My initial response was, could that topic be any broader?   But then gratefully he followed it up with “Particularly from the prosp...

Kid's Talks

Riley’s Primary Talk on Baptism 3/15/20 Today I want to talk on Baptism.   Being baptized is a commandment from Heavenly Father.   We have to be baptized to make it back to Him.   Even Jesus Christ was baptized.   If Jesus Christ was baptized we should be baptized too.   When we turn 8 years old we can choose to follow Jesus Christ’s example and be baptized too.   When we are baptized and confirmed we become members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.     If you have already been baptized, you should remember the covenants, or promises you made.   If you have not been baptized, you should study and pray and keep the commandments so that when you turn 8 years old you will be ready. We should all remember how important baptism is.   I am really excited I get to be baptized next year.   In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen Faith Parker’s Talk   2/16/20   Today, my talk is going to be about f...
